Returning to Training Part I

Injury, deployment, the business of everyday life, or any other number of reasons that we could fall out of our physical training for long periods of time. This is a situation all of us have had to deal with. The reality is getting back in the gym, on the road, or on the mountains putting in work is going to require some planning and key considerations. Generally speaking, detraining and having to return to training with a new strategy occurs when someone is out of training for more than two weeks but less than a year. Particularly these concepts are important when returning from injury where physical therapy or other interventions had to take place. In the following posts, we are going to outline what is often believed some key considerations when returning to training and how to actually apply them so you can get back and perform better than ever before.
